Packing your Diaper Bag for Disneyland

After having made 4 trips to Disneyland with DD since she turned 1, I’ve pretty much nailed it down the essentials and pack two small bags.

Bag #1 – leave in the stroller and use items when needed:

1)      Light blanket for night time
2)      Bottle for milk kept in cold bag.  You can always buy more milk at Disneyland and you can also order some with the kid meals.
3)      3-6 diapers
4)      A pack of wipes
5)      Extra snacks
6)      A change of clothes.  If your kid starts the day in shorts, bring sweat pants for evening.  You’ll also need another set of day clothes if you let them run through the water play areas.
7)      Jacket or sweater
8)      Sunscreen

Bag #2 – Carry with you at all times

This bag is more like a mini diaper bag slash purse.  Every time we go on a ride, I like to take a few things for DD in case there’s a line longer than expected.  I bought mine from for $14 and had my choice of color and character (photo above).

1)      Snacks
2)      Sippy cup of water
3)      Pacifiers
4)      ID, Disneyland pass, money
5)      Phone
6)      Camera

If you didn’t already know it, Disneyland and California Adventure have a Baby Center where you can find diapers, wipes, baby food, changing station, gliders, microwaves, high chairs, formula, and other necessary baby related products.  Every restroom in the park has a diaper changing station they provide changing pads (even though I always use my own).  So if you forget something, they’ve got you covered.

Got any tips for packing?  Post ’em in the comments section!

About P.T.

Once I took my daughter to Disneyland for the first time at 14 months, I couldn't get enough. I literally saw the magic in her eyes and one of my "things" as a mom is to never let the magic slip away. Being an Annual Passholder and living 400 miles away from Disneyland is almost painful. Now that she's 2, she's a seasoned guest and has not run out of new adventures. Raising a Disney Kid is designed to provide helpful tips, planning info, reviews, and park updates for other parents visiting the Disneyland Resort.
